About the knife series
The Alpha Barrel Oak knife series from Güde is characterized by hand-forged blades made from a single piece of high-quality chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, which are stainless, ice-hardened and hand-sharpened.
The distinctive handle material consists of old barrel oak, obtained from wine barrels that are over 80 years old, which gives each knife an individual grain and special robustness.
Typical of the series are the hand-fitted, triple-riveted handle scales and the characteristic palm rivet as a central trademark.
Up to 40 elaborate manual work steps ensure maximum precision, perfect balance and exclusive quality with a special character.

Since 1910, Franz Güde GmbH has been manufacturing Solingen knives by hand. Over four generations, the manufactory has combined traditional blacksmithing with the highest quality standards - each knife is unique with a soul.
From the shaping of the blade to the finishing touches, Güde are created in the hands of experienced cutlers. This uncompromising Solingen craftsmanship guarantees exceptional sharpness, perfect balance and decades of durability.
Anyone who holds a Güde in their hand can feel the difference: a tool that not only cuts, but also becomes a faithful companion in the kitchen.
The Güde Alpha barrel oak paring knife combines hand-forged Solingen quality with exclusive design and maximum functionality. The 8 cm long blade is made from high-quality chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel in up to 55 manual steps, ice-hardened and sharpened by hand - for long-lasting sharpness and maximum cutting performance. The knife is ideal for fine peeling, cleaning and precise cutting of vegetables and for decorating fruit. A special highlight are the handle scales made from barrel oak from old wine barrels, whose unique grain makes each knife one of a kind. The handcrafted finish not only ensures a comfortable grip, but also gives the knife exceptional robustness and balance. Thanks to the traditional drop-forged manufacturing process, this knife offers a cutting experience that meets the highest standards of quality, precision and exclusivity. The Alpha Barrel Oak series stands for inspiring Solingen craftsmanship - the perfect knife for passionate cooks and discerning connoisseurs who appreciate truly unique pieces. With the Güde paring knife, you are getting a piece of authentic craftsmanship and relying on a tool whose durability and elegant appearance will set the tone in any kitchen.
Pro Tip:
For maximum control when finely peeling or precisely cutting vegetables, hold the paring knife like a pencil and guide the tapered blade directly in your hand for delicate work - this allows you to make the most of the handy shape and extreme sharpness. Make sure to rest the knife regularly on a wooden or plastic board so that the edge retains its sharpness for a long time.
The Güde Alpha barrel oak paring knife is your reliable partner for precise work in the kitchen and combines hand-forged Solingen quality with an elegant look and pleasant feel.
With its short, 8 cm long blade, this knife is particularly suitable for fine peeling, cleaning and precise cutting of vegetables. You can use it in the classic way to cleanly and evenly process asparagus, carrots or zucchinis, for example, or to delicately chop herbs. Its well-balanced design and exceptionally sharp cutting edge ensure that you can effortlessly master even demanding tasks such as removing peel from delicate ingredients such as tomatoes or kiwis.
But the Güde Alpha barrel oak paring knife also opens up creative possibilities: Decorate fruit, conjure up intricate garnishes from radishes or kohlrabi and create detailed vegetable carvings for sophisticated buffets or festive presentations. Even coring small fruits or artfully slicing lemon zest is particularly effortless with this knife.
The beautifully shaped barrel oak handle not only offers you comfortable handling, but also makes each knife visually unique with an individual grain. Benefit from exceptional robustness and perfect balance, which makes even extended cutting work a pleasure.
With the Güde paring knife, you are choosing a versatile tool that makes a decisive difference in both classic everyday kitchen work and creative challenges and meets your demands for quality and functionality without compromise.
