About the knife series
The Güde Alpha series combines traditional Solingen blacksmithing with fine American walnut wood and impresses with its characteristic grain and high-quality workmanship. Each blade is forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel in over 40 manual steps, ice-hardened, and sharpened by hand, with an optimal hardness of 57-58 HRC ensuring excellent sharpness and cutting durability. The hard walnut wood handle scales are triple-riveted with stainless steel rivets, while the central palm rivet is made of aluminum with the characteristic Güde. The full tang and typical double bolster guarantee perfect balance, safe handling, and fatigue-free work with the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Franz Güde has been manufacturing Güde Solingen since 1910. Solingen has been manufacturing knives by hand – across four generations. Each blade is forged, ground, and balanced by experienced master craftsmen.
What makes them special: 100% made in Germany, without compromise. Güde traditional blacksmithing with modern steel alloys and the highest quality standards.
The result is knives that last a lifetime and make working in the kitchen a joy. Precision you can feel – with every cut.
The Güde W765/16 Güde from the Alpha series is a versatile all-round knife that meets the highest standards of precision and quality. Thanks to its 16 cm long, hand-forged blade made of Solingen chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, the knife glides effortlessly through meat, fish, vegetables, or herbs and is ideal for all kinds of preparation work in the kitchen. Up to 55 manual steps are required to manufacture each individual knife, creating a truly unique piece that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. The excellent blade hardness of 57–58 HRC ensures lasting sharpness and high cutting performance, enabling precise and clean work at all times. The ergonomically shaped handle made of finely polished, elegantly grained walnut wood fits comfortably in the hand and underlines the exclusive character of this knife. The Güde Alpha Güde is the best choice for ambitious amateur chefs and professionals who value perfection and durability. Choose a knife that impresses with its quality, style, and unmistakable origins in the Solingen forging tradition—a real highlight for your kitchen and every cut.
Pro tip:
Use the Güde Alpha Güde for fine cutting tasks such as herbs, vegetables, or meat, and make sure to hold the knife as close as possible to the transition from the blade to the handle—this will allow you to guide the knife with particular precision and control.
Always pull the sharp blade through the material in a steady, rocking motion to achieve clean cuts and optimal results.
The Güde Walnut Güde is your versatile everyday companion for all cutting tasks in the kitchen. The slim, 16 cm long blade made of hand-forged chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel ensures clean and precise cuts – whether you want to prepare meat, fish, vegetables, or fresh herbs. Used in the traditional way, the knife makes it easy to finely dice onions, cut up chicken breasts, or quickly slice peppers and tomatoes. Its balanced weight and narrow shape allow you to reach even hard-to-reach areas with ease, for example when skinning or boning meat. The blade's lasting sharpness and robustness enable precise work even with fibrous meat or firm fruit such as apples and pears. Creative users also appreciate the paring knife for finely filleting fish slices for sushi, cutting rolls for decorative appetizers, or making wafer-thin vegetable chips. The knife also impresses with its maneuverability and control when performing delicate tasks such as peeling oranges or cutting zucchini into fine strips for vegetable spaghetti. The finely polished handle made of elegantly grained walnut wood fits comfortably and securely in the hand. With this knife, you are well equipped for a wide range of culinary tasks – for classic use as well as for creative cooking ideas that will enrich your kitchen.
