About the knife series
The Güde series combines the highest standards of design, quality, and functionality—each knife is a handmade, unique piece from the traditional Solingen craft. The hand-forged blades are made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, which is hardened to a rust-free finish, hand-ground and sharpened to optimum sharpness in over 40 manual steps; it achieves a hardness of approx. 57–58 HRc, which ensures excellent cutting performance and long-lasting stability.
The handle scales of the Alpha series are made of finely structured, velvety pear wood and are firmly connected to the tang by three rivets, including the distinctive aluminum "palm rivet" – a characteristic detail that underlines the Güde.
Typical of the series is the full tang, which reveals the single piece of steel construction and ensures optimal balance and fatigue-free working; the bread knife with serrated edge is one of the bestsellers in the collection.
The knives in the Alpha series are not dishwasher-safe and should always be washed by hand after use to preserve the high-quality materials and elegant appearance.
