About the knife series
The Güde Alpha series combines traditional blacksmithing with elegant design and was developed in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Harald Rüssel. The blades are forged from chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, ice-hardened, and hand-sharpened, with each knife being crafted by hand in over 40 manual steps. The special feature of the series is the handle scales made from oak wine barrels, which have become exceptionally robust and durable thanks to decades of storage. The handles with their characteristic double bolster and palm rivet made of aluminum and stainless steel rivets ensure perfect balance and fatigue-free working with a hardness of 57-58 HRC.

Pro tip:
Draw your knife evenly across the entire sharpening steel at an angle of 15–20 degrees—from the base of the blade to the tip—and rhythmically switch sides for about ten strokes per side. Use the sharpening steel regularly before the knife becomes blunt, as this will simply straighten the fine cutting edge and maintain optimum sharpness without removing unnecessary material.
The Güde Solingen Alpha Solingen E055/26 is the perfect tool for anyone who values knife care and long-lasting cutting performance. Regularly sharpening your high-quality kitchen knives with this sharpening steel will keep them sharp and make cooking in your kitchen a breeze.
With the medium-fine and magnetic rod of the Güde E055/26 Güde , you can reliably realign the blade of your chef's knife. This sharpening steel is particularly suitable for quickly refreshing all-purpose knives, chef's knives, or meat knives – so you can always cut vegetables, meat, or fish with the highest level of precision. Especially after daily use, when the knife starts to lose its edge, a quick pull across the sharpening steel is all it takes to restore your blade to its original sharpness and allow you to enjoy effortless, precise cuts. Using the sharpening steel means you can avoid frequent re-sharpening and substantially extend the life of your knives.
The sharpening steel can also be used creatively to sharpen special knives, such as fine sushi or filleting knives, whose delicate cutting edge is optimally maintained by the precise medium-fine stroke. You can also benefit from a regularly refreshed edge on bread knives or small paring knives, allowing you to effortlessly slice paper-thin tomato slices or cut even fruit cubes, for example.
The stylish handle made from over 100-year-old barrel oak fits comfortably in the hand and ensures safe, balanced handling. This makes even frequent maintenance of your knives a comfortable ritual. Use the sharpening steel regularly to maintain the sharpness and quality of your cutting tools—and keep your kitchen knives in top condition, whether for Sunday family dinners or creative experimentation with new recipes.
With the Güde Alpha Güde , you can turn knife care into a moment of pleasure, effectively protect your valuable blades, and make a lasting investment in the joy of cooking and traditional craftsmanship.
