About the Knife Series
The Milly series is the gateway to the Güde world. It is named after Milly Güde, a real-life figure from the family history of the Solingen-based manufacturer. Each blade, made from tried-and-true chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, is hand-forged at Solingen and ice-hardened; it also receives its final polish by hand. It is thus crafted in the same production process as all Güde knives. Milly’s design is intentionally simple. The multi-riveted olive wood scales feel warm in the hand, and their vibrant grain makes each knife one-of-a-kind. Milly is the right choice for anyone who wants to start with a genuine Solingen Güde knife.

Franz Güde GmbH was founded in 1910 by Karl Güde in Solingen and looks back on over 100 years of first-class knife-making tradition. From the very beginning, the knives were crafted through labor-intensive manual processes—forged, sharpened, and assembled by hand—which has established Güde as one of the leading quality brands from Solingen . In 1923, Franz Güde took over the manufactory and introduced innovative improvements, including the famous “Güde ” serrated edge, which remains the benchmark for bread knives to this day. Today, the company is run by the fourth generation and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design and the highest precision. The Güde brand is associated not only with cutting tools but also with values such as quality, innovation, and sustainable craftsmanship from Solingen.
The Güde Milly Vegetable Knife is the perfect tool for everyday food preparation. The short, 9-cm blade, made of stainless chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, is hand-forged and ice-hardened, then hand-finished. It cuts fruit and vegetables cleanly without crushing them, and its light weight provides full control for delicate cuts. The multi-riveted olive wood handle scales feel warm in the hand, and their vibrant grain makes each knife one-of-a-kind. Like all Güde knives, it is hand-forged in Solingen and manufactured in-house.
Pro Tip:
Hold the food you're cutting in a claw grip and use the short blade close to your knuckles; this way, even small amounts can be cut quickly and safely. For paper-thin slices, hold the knife at a slight angle.
Finely dice onions or clean mushrooms and strawberries. For any task that requires a light touch—from garnishing to coring—the short blade is superior to a large chef's knife.
