About the knife series
The Güde Alpha Barrel Oak knife series impresses with hand-forged blades made from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, which are ice-hardened and hand-sharpened and offer excellent initial sharpness.
The handle scales made from old oak wood from former wine barrels, which have been aged for decades, are particularly robust and full of character.
Typical features are the precise three-rivet design with the central palm rivet and the Güde double bolster for optimum balance and fatigue-free working.
Each knife in the series is manufactured in over 40 manual steps and combines fine materials with traditional craftsmanship.

The paring knife from the Alpha Barrel Oak series by Güde Solingen impresses with masterful craftsmanship, maximum precision and a unique combination of tradition and innovation. Thanks to the hand-forged, 6 cm short and curved blade, you will experience maximum control and ease when peeling fruit and vegetables - even with challenging shapes and tight curves. Whether you are peeling an apple, cleaning potatoes or refining vegetables, with this knife you can glide precisely along the surface without unnecessary loss of material.
The peeling knife is traditionally used for effortless peeling and slicing of potatoes, carrots, apples or kiwis - its compact dimensions make it particularly safe to hold and ideal for delicate work "from the wrist". The narrow tip also helps with the precise removal of damaged areas, the targeted coring of fruit or fine finishing work on vegetables.
Creatively, the knife can be used to artfully decorate radishes, make fine citrus zests for cocktails or desserts, or peel thin tomato skins for sophisticated garnishes. Even when cutting small cubes of cheese, making vegetable florets or carefully opening mushrooms for stuffed starters, the precise guidance is impressive. Thanks to the high-quality handle made from old barrel oak, you will always enjoy a unique feeling of safety, tradition and exclusivity - a knife with character that enhances your everyday tasks as well as special moments of enjoyment.
