Franz Güde

The Material

Named for the inventor of the "Güde serrated blade", the Franz Güde Series knives are handcrafted from stainless cutlery steel and feature grips made from fine plum wood in the timeless, traditional style of the early Güde knives.

Ice hardened stainless steel; hand sharpened – not for the dishwasher!

The plum is cultivated predominantly in Central Europe and belongs to the family of the rose plants.

The wood has a very high density. Moreover, it is very hard and can easily be turned and polished. The wood is of a dark reddish-brown color and the core of the wood often has brown-red or violet-red grains and flames.
