About the knife series
The Güde Alpha series features handcrafted knives with handles made from oak wood that is over 80 years old, originally sourced from wine barrels and therefore particularly robust and uniquely grained.
Each blade is forged from a single piece of stainless chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, ice-hardened, sharpened by hand, and finished in over 40 manual steps.
Characteristic features of the series are the typical palm rivet in the center of the handle, the three-rivet design, and the classic double bolster for perfect balance and excellent handling.
The successful combination of traditional blacksmithing and exclusive barrel wood makes these knives a special kitchen tool, not only for wine lovers.

The Güde Alpha Güde is a masterpiece of Solingen blacksmithing, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern precision. The blade, made of high-quality chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, is hand-forged in up to 55 manual steps, ice-hardened, and sharpened to the highest degree of sharpness—for first-class cutting results that will delight you for a long time to come. With its medium-pointed, 10 cm long blade, this knife is perfect for cleaning, peeling, and precisely cutting vegetables, fruit, herbs, and small pieces of meat. The handle, made from over 80-year-old barrel oak, comes from old wine barrels and not only ensures unparalleled robustness, but also makes each knife unique with its individual grain. Pro Tip:
Use the Güde Alpha Güde for precise everyday kitchen tasks. It is perfect for **cleaning, peeling, and cutting** vegetables, fruit, herbs, and small pieces of meat. Keep the blade sharp by regularly sharpening it with a high-quality sharpening steel at an angle of 15-20 degrees. This will keep the blade permanently sharp and ready for use in your kitchen.
The Güde Alpha Güde is your versatile partner for demanding culinary tasks and impresses with its exclusive craftsmanship and timeless quality.
Thanks to its medium-pointed blade, which is approximately 10 cm long, classic tasks such as precisely cleaning, peeling, and cutting vegetables, fruit, and fresh herbs are particularly easy. With the hand-forged blade, you can cut even small pieces of meat or poultry cleanly and effortlessly – ideal for deboning, portioning, or quickly preparing ingredients for fine dishes.
The paring knife is traditionally used for larding, for example to enhance lean roasts with strips of bacon and give them additional flavor and juiciness. The stable, medium-pointed shape also allows you to insert spices or garlic into meat with precision.
But the larding knife offers you much more: the short blade is ideal for creatively carving delicate fruit and vegetable decorations for buffets or desserts, finely slicing mushrooms straight after harvesting, peeling tomatoes, or preparing extravagant garnishes from lemon zest and ginger.
The handle, made from over 80-year-old barrel oak, ensures perfect control and a distinctive feel in the hand—each knife is truly unique with its own individual grain. Whether as a stylish table tool, for fine cuisine, or for creative moments of enjoyment: with the Alpha Paring Knife, you will experience the most beautiful combination of function and design and enhance your culinary art in every way.
